Keynote Speaker
Portland Public Schools Nutrition Services Director Kristy Obbink has dedicated the last 28 years of her life to the school nutrition industry. She has been a member of the School Nutrition Association (SNA) since 1979 and has served as the Oregon state SNA President twice. Her accomplishments include collaborating with Community Health Partnerships to draft legislation and testify on behalf of a state bill that requires nutrient standards for competitive foods sold on school campuses, working closely with EcoTrust to promote the use of locally grown products, and continuing to create a profit of over $700,000 annually for Portland Public Schools. Kristy Obbink is one of five leaders in the country to earn top honors from the National School Nutrition Association, recognizing her team's progressive policies and changes that have improved food served to Portland
students.
